So you want to know the secret to picking a winner in sports?
I’m sure you’ve seen it a thousand times, someone advertising a sports betting system that you can buy for $400, or $2,000 or maybe just $29.95. They tell you that they stumbled on to a well guarded secret that the professionals (or wise guys) use to beat the bookies at their own game.
They’ll tell you that their system is the best and then list some phony testimonials about how individuals have made thousands of dollars in only a couple of days with their secret system.
They are sometimes so convincing I have been tempted to take out my credit card just to see what I’ve been missing.
The Real Truth about the Systems
You want to know the secret…. there is no secret.
Wow ! That was anti-climatic.
But it’s the truth, there is no secret system. All it takes to win at sports betting is a lot of work and discipline.
The work comes from analyzing. That’s an interesting word and definitely applies to the work you must do to pick winners. You have to pay attention to the details to the point of being anal… hence anal-izing.
The discipline comes from placing the bets. You have to follow a system of betting and not deviate from it for any reason. The bets must be made and for the right amount. A slip in this area can and probably will make the difference between having a winning week or a losing week, and I’m sure I know which one you’d rather have.
