ARE TURNOVERS A HANDICAPPERS NIGHTMARE OR DREAM?
The list below shows the year to date turnovers by team. Let’s look at how each team’s +/- compares to their ATS record so far.
Before I get to the details… I Just want you to know some of the things concerning turnovers we look at when making our picks for the week.
Check these Week 1 Ats results…
The home team won 8 games.
The away team won 8 games.
The favorite won 8 games.
The underdog won 8 games.
This has been a great start to the 2009 football season, we have seen some great games and some unbelievable plays. There have been some season ending injuries and some players returning from long term injuries. There have been some blow outs and some last minute game changing plays.
So who covered… who disappointed?
Let’s look at the ATS winners for week 1.

AGAINST THE SPREAD[ATS] STATS
Most of the time we look at the SU [straight up] win/loss records but we don’t look at the ATS [against the spread] records…
In this post I want to point out some 2008 NFL ATS HIGHLIGHTS…
I need to get something off my chest… My problem is the play calling on 3rd and short let’s say 3rd and 1.
Do they run or pass? Watching the game I often wonder why a team would call a run up the middle… and sure enough the play flops and it’s punt time.
So, instead of throwing my shoe at the TV again, I began to do some research. Here’s some interesting stats…

70% of the time when running the ball
58% of the time when passing the ball
